What is bay lighting?

Bay lighting is a type of lighting used in large, open spaces such as warehouses, factories, and commercial buildings. It is typically installed on the ceiling of the space and consists of a series of light fixtures (lighting fixtures) that are mounted in a row or series of rows, often referred to as “bays”. The term "bay lighting" is typically used to describe the type of lighting that is installed in a particular space, rather than the specific type of luminaire used.

Bay lighting is typically used to provide a high level of general lighting for the space, and fixtures are often mounted high on the ceiling to maximize coverage area. Luminaires can be fitted with a variety of different light sources, such as fluorescent, High Intensity Discharge (HID) or LED lamps, depending on the specific needs of the space.

Bay lighting is generally chosen for its ability to provide a high level of illumination over a large area at relatively low cost. It is often used in industrial and commercial applications where lighting needs to be bright and even, and where the space can be used for a variety of different purposes.
